Peru: The port of Chancay will make Peru the hub of South America | News | ANDEAN

Tuesday highlighted the value of exporters, as well as rural men and women.

On the occasion of the Exporters’ Day, the member of the Cabinet highlighted the important performance that Peru has achieved in recent years.

These great figures are backed by 8,573 exporting companies which, in 2021, have sought to bring the best Peruvian offer to the world, with 4,805 products to conquer 170 markets on five continents, he said.

The head of Mincetur stressed that this date is very important for the country and reaffirms the great opportunities that are available to us, which require the efforts and the will of everyone.

“We need to be more competitive in order to strengthen dialogue, institutionality, the democratic system and political stability which means jobs (opportunities) for our regions and communities,” he added.

In his speech, the government official also highlighted the ongoing works in the construction of the multi-purpose port terminal of Chancay. As is known, these works will allow Peru to become the main logistics center in South America, carrying out the marketing of products from the entire region.

He also welcomed the holding of the 12th edition of the Chile-Peru Binational Meeting, which takes place in Arica and brings together around a hundred Chilean and Peruvian companies who actively participate in a business round table and attend round tables, as well as specialized seminars.

This information was given during the Exporters’ Day ceremony, an event led by the President of the Republic Pedro Castillo. Also in attendance were Congressional Trade and Tourism Committee Chairman Edgar Tello; Amora Carbajal, Executive President of the Peruvian Office for the Promotion of Exports and Tourism (PromPeru); as well as representatives of more than 150 exporting companies.
