The acting Director General of the Niger Delta Development Commission, Emmanuel Audu-Ohwavborua, has instructed the staff of the interventionist agency not to get along with those who work against progress and development in the region. of the Niger Delta.
Audu-Ohwavborua gave charge during a work ethics/organizational behavior advocacy program at the commission’s headquarters in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
This was contained in a statement signed by the Chief General Affairs Officer of the NDDC, Dr Ibitoye Abosede, and made available to reporters on Monday.
According to the statement, the NDDC boss identified those he described as enemies of the Niger Delta region in his book titled “The Real Enemies of the Niger Delta”.
Audu-Ohwavborua said, “I identified, among others, the natives of the Niger Delta region as a category of enemies.
“I also identified those with power and influence: those in the corridors of power, in government offices; some natives of the region who find themselves in positions of influence but refuse to put the interests of the region first.
“Those who collude with foreign and local investors to bypass the region and deprive it of its full and legitimate benefits are real enemies of the region.”
He noted that achieving the goals of any organization is tied to the effectiveness of the organization’s workforce.
In his presentation, the Chairman of the National Wages, Incomes and Wages Commission, Mr. Ekpo Nta, a guest speaker on the program, urged NDDC workers to imbibe the habit of self-improvement with further formal education.
